When it comes to sustainable energy, how do we stack up? And where are we headed? Dr. Susan Tierney, a testifying expert and a former Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, will discuss current and future policy - both for China and here at home in Kentucky.
In addition to her past role at the Department of Energy, Dr. Tierney is known throughout the field as an expert on energy policy and economics, specializing in the electric and gas industries. She has consulted to companies, governments, non-profits, and other organizations on energy markets, economic and environmental regulation and strategy, and energy facility projects. Her expert witness, business consulting, and arbitration services have involved industry restructuring, market analyses, regulatory policies for renewables and energy efficiency. She is a member of the Bipartisan Policy Center's energy project and the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board. Recently, she was also appointed to the National Petroleum Council.
