World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana Welcomes Three New Board Members
The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana (WAC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of three distinguished new members to its Board of Directors. The additions of Keith Miller, Joel Mwambayi, and Lily Jiaqin Li are set to further strengthen the council's mission to foster global understanding and collaboration within our community.
Keith Miller is a nationally recognized Brand, Business and Sales/Marketing Strategy Executive with hands-on Angel investor experience. Spending years in global innovative Start-ups and Brand/Marketing agencies. Also an ex-college hoops player with broad and vast experience as an innovation leader, advocate, advisor, speaker and revolutionary strategist. With expertise in sales, marketing, design, creative, advertising, fashion, technology, management, production, environmental, experiential, social, digital and client management within all major sectors from start-ups to universally loved global Brands. Developing and executing the overall business and brand strategy, sales and business development including ongoing account management with universally recognized clients including Netflix, Starbucks, PayPal, Humana, Google, Microsoft, The Gap, Boeing, SFSP, Adobe, TMZ, XpressRun, CamelBak, Levi's, Sony, Toyota, Capgemini, Wells Fargo, Ubisoft, Nike, Hulu and dozens more. He is also an avid adventurer, traveler and aesthete originally from Philly, grew up in Cincy, graduate of Bellarmine University (BA) and San Francisco State (Music biz). He also considers himself a huge sports, entertainment, fashion, design, music and arts enthusiast.
Joel Mwambayi is a senior security analyst at Edward Jones specializing in cyber risk management and information security. He was raised in Lexington, KY after immigrating to the U.S. as a Congolese refugee in 2001. In 2015, he moved to Louisville to pursue my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems and followed up with my MBA. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering with nonprofits, the occasional binge of Netflix, watching movies and anime, running, hanging with friends, and learning and exploring new areas around Louisville. His current goal is to bridge the gaps between the different immigrant and refugee communities within Louisville and help to highlight and show the beauty that comes with diversity and inclusivity.
Lily Jiaqin Li is originally from China. She has been in Louisville since 2012. Before moving to Louisville, she lived in Beijing, Toronto, Dallas and Shanghai. So far Louisville is her favorite place to live! She studied Accounting and obtained CPA in Canada and is currently working for Samtec as an International Accountant. She loves her job. She also paints and teaches watercolor paintings in her leisure time. She has two daughters; one just graduated from college this year, and one will be in 3rd grade. She is very excited to join WAC and is looking forward to working with everyone and making some difference to the community.
The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana is confident that the unique perspectives and expertise of Mr. Miller, Mr. Mwambayi, and Mrs. Li will enrich the board and help drive the council's mission forward. Their appointments come at a pivotal time as the organization continues to adapt and innovate in response to an increasingly interconnected world.
