In celebration of 45 years of Sister Cities’ relationship between Louisville and Tamale, WAC will be hosting a conversation with the Ambassador of Ghana to the U.S., H.E. Hajia Alima Mahama. Amb. Mahama will offer remarks on Ghana’s role in Africa and its relationship with the U.S. This will be followed by a conversation with Chief Ife Bell, who holds the traditional tribal leader title of Zosimli Naa in the Dagbon Kingdom in Northern Ghana. Their discussion will focus on the development and exchange between Louisville and Tamale Sister Cities. 

Ghana is the 10th largest economy in Africa and one of the most stable democracies on the continent. Last year, Vice President Harris visited Ghana to promote economic growth and food security in the region through its ties with the US.

Ambassador Mahama, along with an official delegtaion from Tamale, will celebrate the 45th anniversary of Sister Louisville-Tamale Sister Cities relationship.
